This course surveys world literature--including the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas--from the ancient period up to the 1600s. Students study the selected literature for its expression of the human experience and for its generation of cultural and artistic values. UC Credit Limitation: Credit for LIT 270 or LIT 270H.
