This course surveys major writers in English literature from the late 18th to the 21st century. It covers some of the best-known poetry, essays, drama, and prose fiction written in modern English as well as the historical and cultural backgrounds of these works. Eras include romantic, Victorian, modern, post-colonial, and postmodern. C-ID ENGL-165.
