This course presents an integrated history of American nations in the modern period. It emphasizes the American histories of the 19th, 20th and early 21st centuries including Latin American wars of independence, U.S. foreign policy with Latin America, Canada's relations with the Western hemisphere, Latin American society in the 20th century, and the impact of globalization on the American continent.
