This course provides for the study of communication within an interpersonal context. It includes the study of the communication process, perception, the symbolic nature of language, nonverbal codes, principles of effective communication, and the effects of communication on people in society. Students learn to prepare, deliver, and evaluate various types of speeches, including informative and persuasive speeches. C-ID COMM-130.
