ART 245: Digital Art and Media

This course provides an introduction to the historical and theoretical foundations of digital art as well as hands-on production of digital art using a broad range of applications and computer hardware. The course introduces students to raster, vector, web, and time-based applications that allow them to learn the fundamentals of visual communication, website production, manipulation of images, design elements, animation, sound, video and the production of multimedia artworks. Students create digital projects that fuse the theoretical, historical, and cultural aspects of digitally based art through the practical application of computer-based skills.
