Intercollegiate Athletics--MiraCosta College Spartans

The MiraCosta College Intercollegiate Athletic Department takes equal pride in academic and athletic achievements; GPA and transfer rates matter just as much as wins and losses. MiraCosta fields intercollegiate teams in men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, women's volleyball, and women's sand volleyball.

MiraCosta College participates in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA), along with more than 100 California community colleges, and is a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, which includes the eight community colleges in San Diego County and Mt. San Jacinto College (Hemet, California.) MiraCosta also has a surf team that competes in the collegiate division of the National Scholastic Surfing Association.

To participate in intercollegiate athletics, a student must be admitted to the college, be enrolled full time, and meet eligibility requirements of the CCCAA. Students who have not played any college sports are immediately eligible in their first semester.

Special rules apply to transfer students. Students wishing to determine eligibility status should contact the athletic director.
