MiraCosta College's Child Development Center serves as a campus-based educational program and laboratory school, providing both academic instruction to college students enrolled in early childhood education courses and child care to student, staff, and community families. The center provides developmentally appropriate, play-based, and inclusive early care and education for children between the ages of 18 months and 5 1/2 years.
Located on the Oceanside Campus, the Child Development Center is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m.–4:45 p.m. throughout the academic year. There are 3 classroom options. Children in rooms one and two may attend mornings until 11:30 a.m.; extended days until 2:00 p.m. or full days until 4:30 p.m. Children in rooms three-five may attend mornings until 11:45 a.m.; extended days until 2:15 p.m. or full days until 4:45 p.m. MiraCosta's student families receive priority enrollment as well as reduced tuition.
Applications for enrollment are available online each semester at the center's website. Registration for the fall semester begins early May, and registration for the spring semester begins early November. Classes fill quickly; apply early.
